BLACK LIVES MATTER MARCH

  • Century 14 Downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102 (map)

Police have killed 646 people in 2018 and that number is climbing.

Police killed 1,147 people in 2017. Black people were 25% of those killed despite being only 13% of the population.

Police brutality isn’t just a concern for communities of color although they are targeted by a system that finds us disposable at any cost leaving our families and communities almost always without justice, Police Brutality should be a concern for all people despite, race, gender, creed, sexuality, and religion. People are dying and as human beings it is our moral obligation to protect those bodies at any costs.

We are here to affirm the existence of black bodies in a world that consistently tells us we are not human, our bodies are disposable and devalued. We march to silence our oppressors, we march to claim our humanity , We march to demand justice for those who have lost their lives for no reason other than being black in America. WE MARCH BECAUSE BLACK LIVES MATTER!

“Black Lives Matter is an ideological and political intervention in a world where Black lives are systematically and intentionally targeted for demise. It is an affirmation of Black folks’ humanity, our contributions to this society, and our resilience in the face of deadly oppression.
