The monument to white supremacy that Trump is hellbent on building along the southern border is a physical manifestation of everything he stands for and he will not stop until either it is built or he and his regime are driven from power. Trump’s “Make America Great Again” is a 21st century fascist program of Manifest Destiny – “America First” – wrapped in the flag and Mike Pence’s Bible taken literally, with a program of white supremacy, misogyny, and xenophobia. And they won’t stop steamrolling this program forward unless the people rise up in sustained protest to drive them out.
Trump has not caved, his regime is not on the brink of collapse, and his agenda has not been constrainedly by the new Democratic House. We need to stop relying on a Democratic Party leadership that ‘agrees’ with Trump on Border security, who is begging to throw money at the border patrol and ICE and every kind of anti-immigrant operation except a literal wall.
